Handling and ride depends on the profile of the tyre. Many new cars have 65's which basically soak up all the bumps and make for 'soft' handling. Standard Fez wheels have 50's which make the car handle better, and make the suspension feel stiffer. the lower you go the more you feel the bumps. When I put 17" rims on mine, my tyres went from 50's down to 40's. I feel bumps more, but not a huge difference. If you had 35's or 30's i reckon you'd really notice it. I've seen cars with 25's...almost driving on the rims, too bad if you hit a pothole.
