I have new mags on my car (40th Ann wheels) and I did one a few weeks ago plus 2 tyres in a monster pot hole (12 inches deep) that appeared after the damn flooding. Council sent us to Vic Roads as they are in control despite it was in the middle of town so I dealt with it myself - all too hard.
Had mine rolled - VERY succesfully! Back on the car and new rubber and a repair on the rear.
Ask around and repair if you can.

The precedent of stripping weight and using full slicks was set years ago now.
