Re: new infections, the overall pattern is on the downward part of the curve. The Age did an excellent article yesterday where they showed the genomic clustering of the outbreakes. Have a look at the chart. The early infections were largely overcome by early May, and it looks like the larger, second wave is on the downward path as well. It's been proved that if people don't interact nearly as much as they originally did, the virus cannot multiply and grow.
