Well, I can't talk on behalf of anyone else, so these are just my thoughts.

I don't have an issue with regional areas being included n the lockdown. Whilst we certainly don't have the same level of exposure as our metro friends, we sill have exposure. I posted about the one positive case n the area last week, well we had two more positive cases over the weekend; one was a household member of the first case, and the other has since moved to a different location (not sure where they picked up the virus from).

The first case picked up the virus from the rugby at AAMI park, so whist the metro area is the biggest risk, we all know that people from the regions travel to the city for these larger events. And most of the regional cases were initiated from similar events. It seems to me that, at least in the early days of an outbreak in the city, the regional areas need to be included. At least until the contract tracers have had an opportunity to identify the rings of contacts and have them under control, too.

On the flip side, I can understand people who live at Suggan Buggan, Goongerah or Bendoc for example, probably wonder why they've been included in the lockdown. You'd have to think that the likelihood of someone that remote being exposed to the virus is very low.

But, for me, lockdown has very little impact. Working at one of the largest power stations in the state means that I can still go to work (people still need and want their electricity), even though I work from home alternate weeks. My boss is very considerate of my personal circumstances and allows me to work from home when I have my daughter during lockdown (home schooling). I don't play any team sports, I don't attend any clubs or anything like that, so the impost of lockdown really doesn't have much of an impact. Probably the thing I miss most is going out for dinner Friday nights with my mum and any family or friends that decide to join us.

So, I see it as being a duty that we need to carry out and am happy to play my part in helping make everyone safe.
