I agree and it wasn't the reason I jumped back in to comment. I just wanted to share my real life experience having recently travelled, compared to what people might think if they just relied on what they read in the 'news'.

I'm not trying to talk down the virus, but the virus now (omicron) is not the same virus that kicked things off. Like all viruses, they mutate, and generally mutate themselves out of existence eventually. With vaccination rates reasonably high, it doesn't make sense to still act the same as we did 2 years ago with border closures and lockdowns etc. It should be able to be managed just with density limits, social distancing, masks and good hygiene.

I say 'should' because there are always the few that just don't get it. I'm forever having people get in 'my space' when queuing etc but I'm not a confrontational person so I just move myself rather than telling them to move. At the zoo the other day a woman sat so close to my daughter, she actually sat partly on my daughters handbag. I just made sure we were all masked up rather than make a scene.
