You nailed it. Don't want the boy racer image

. I prefer unassuming cars that you can have a bit of fun without the "look at me" feel. One that I don't get OCD when I park, or when I let the dog jump in after a swim at the beach.
I had thought about a Mondeo Diesel too. But none show up on my search result unless I remove the "manual" criteria...
So what I'm hearing is, there are no "major" issues that would say "don't touch". Ask if timing has been done if its over 200,000kms. Budget for decarb. And if your injectors play up....then you are stuffed!

No one locally can tune them, I had mine tuned and a larger hybrid turbo, they had serious issues trying to play with the fuel side of it,
If you try increase fuel, it reduces injector duration,

It protects itself from being fiddled with, and no one can figure out the French electronics.
They did some dodgy shit to get more fuel out of it, ended up making 123KW/front wheels up from 85KW
Its only got a 2.5 BAR MAP sensor too, so you can't go above like 24 PSI boost, before the sensor goes out of range and the car goes into limp mode.

Gonna ring a couple of tuning houses and see what they have to say about a tune.
