On YA!

Seems like we both shared a milestone today. Today also marks my 8th month without a drop of poison (Wild Turkey was my thing). I was doing nearly a bottle a day for 8 years... finally my body (all 62 KG's of it) said NO!

Warning! Long read ahead...

I couldn't write my name when sober, DT's shaking hands etc, I started falling over. I needed to spend a day and a half in bed feeling like death after a bender every other day... needing to get hammered as soon as I woke up to avoid feeling like crap... only to feel worse after drinking again.. Not being able to drive like I used to.. not meaning: the older I get the faster I was kinda thing.
My eye hand co-ordination was just rubbish. My balance was almost non existent. My eye sight started to suffer big time. Everything was getting foggy, as if I had welding flash type of foggy. I started to forget things I said and did. NOT GOOD. As I have an excellent memory when it comes to the spoken word, especially words that I have uttered.

Who eva said "the best way to avoid a hangover is to stay drunk" is a liar.
I tried it. Doesn't work (for me anyway).

I stayed as bent as i possibly could get for 2.5 days. Felt good. Went to sleep, and to be honest, when I woke up, I wished I was dead. I just felt that bad. That's when I decided: enough is enough.
I was drinking to forget a past relationship with a woman. Then it finally dawned on me that, shit man, c'mon, it's been 8+ years and I have a new partner of 4 years, get over her, move on. She (the ex) doesn't know or care that I am trying to kill myself by drinking.

Anyway, I have had 2 jobs since I quit. The 1st one was shit. Lasted 2 months, then got the boot. Best thing that happened.

4 days after getting the DCM, I landed my current role, HR truck driver, local deliveries of general freight in a 14 pallet tailgate equipped Nissan UD beast.

My current job is Ace. I wake up happy. I got to work happy. I like all the people I work with. I like doing what I do. I Love my truck. My boss is killer, knows what he's doing, and thus, makes me look good because I don't have to 2nd guess his thinking.

Main thing is, I am happy inside. Don't hate myself anymore.

Hope you to are reaping the benefits of sobriety my friend.

Will they let him live long enough to reach inauguration day?

Must admit, I'm smiling.

When I can be bothered following NFL, I follow the Phillie Eagles. I've always felt a certain level of empathy for that city. They seem to understand mateship.

And the working class of Pennsylvania have delivered a pretty strong message: "Go Woke, Go Broke."

Hopefully he'll do a deal to make Mustangs Cheaper

Or stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. Which he said he could do as soon as he was elected.

Going to the wreckers and getting a pair of EL Fairmont Ghia horns ($24), fitting them to my TRD so it sounds more like a 'mans' car.. and not a meep meep Barina gay sounding horn.

Just takes a little bit of Ford to make all cars good...
Nine inch LSD, Top loader gear boxes etc etc etc.

Cheers,

One Man

VE Calais (etc) twin horns are also good and loud. Sometimes cheaper than Ford equivalents.

Personally I’d like a rhino horn on my car, that would sort the pedestrians who crossed against a light.

Id love to do this but the fear of getting a road rage attack by the knob Iam honking at is concerning
