Had a good and bad night last night. I ran a new PB of 11.033@122.39 I had 3 runs and all were better than my previos best of 11.587@123.01. The only problem i had was the car running out of fuel before the end of the run. I was 7mph and 0.5 seconds quicker mid track before the fuel surge. I'll be out next week and hope to have the fuel issue sorted.

Isn't the record for the quickest XR6T in Australia 10.98? If you can beat that you'll be set! I guess it is the second fastest XR6T now anyway. Good on ya.

The car was tuned with VP109ron racing fuel. To save the cat and reduce weight the exhaust was dropped and the seats taken out. I'm still running the Nitto's. The car was awesome and the only problem was the car surging through not being able to pick up fuel. We thought we had this solved by having a little pump at the back of the tank pumping it ot the swirl pot but it. Unfortunately not. It seems that the faster the car goes the more fuel it needs to avoid this happening. the first run i had 1/4 a tank and coasted the last 100m for an 11.52. I added 15 litres and then had the same problem but this time only for the last 70m or so. I added another 10litres and with a little wheelspin (it was 1125pm and getting damp) i ran an 11.22 with the problem only happening for the final 40m or so. It looks like i'll need 3/4 of a tnk to solve this. For next week only there will be a surge tank fitted and hopefully this will do the trick. Rob and Ian @ HPF were great and hopefully next week will be my night. Just like to add how immpressive Rod's first up run in his pursuit was 11.8 for a first up effort is a huge achievement and those involved deserve a lot of credit. Look forward to watching your times tumble Rod. Heres my slip.

I will always love V8's better than anything else...but if you dont mind the odd 1/4 fang, the T's are great bang for buck with a few grand spent on them : |

Did you use the nitto's for your new PB, from memory your running 245x45 555R's. It's a shame we cant stuff more rubber under these Ba's, i've got 265x35x18 555R's going on the back of mine as soon as i kill this set of sp9ooo's. Hell the nitto's are cheaper than the dunlop's (retail anyway) so im going to run them full time. Last edited by XRQTOR; 17-05-2005 at 11:36 PM. |
