Default Epa Test :-(

hay guys this week on tuesday i got my epa test done the car didnt pass due to having a exhaust DB of 94 where it was ment to be 90db and emission's or poloution falied as well. They told me i have to drop the amount of fuel going threw my car, i change my injectors back to standard and changed my 300kpa fuel reg back to the standard 250kpa my fuel pump is standard and the car is still running rich on my air and fuel gauge. What other problems can cause this i have a ed xr6 manaul computer no chips or re mapping ever done on it just standard. i also have a new O2 Sensor which is working 100%

exhaust size/length will affect tune. Off of the factory 4.0's run rich.

The cam is probably putting the fuel ratios out of wack... might have to look at getting a chip or aftermarket ecu to control it better?

STOKEB, same shit happened to me...

went for test after actually changing back to stock system (but still had 2.5" over the diff and no resinator there, and also still kept the extractors) and failed at 92dB..Damn just 2 off!!!!! having left it at 2.5" straight thru would have been 120ish dB

went home made up a blank flange piece out of tin with holes in it. Went back (actually to a different tester - St. Albans) and got the test done - 88dB. Took out the piece when i got home and i'm laughin.

If you need the flange piece let me know. Just dont rev ur car too much as the back pressure is shocking LOL (my car couldnt rev over 4grand)

another way is to drill a hole straight through the pipe just prior to the rear (straight through) muffler. stuff a shit load of steel wool in there (past the hole) and then put a bolt through the hole to hold the wool in place heheh after you pass pull the bolt out, rev the car wool comes out... back to normal!!!

If you D/C the TPS, the computer leans out the fuel mixture as the revs rise, so maybe try that. Or you could just put a boost controller in the MAP sensor vacc. line lol.
