Default Gran Turismo 4

Just took some cars for a spin on the 'Ring' all completely stock with TC off...here's the times

FPV GT 8.00.970
FPV F6 8.04.744
BMW M5 7.33.890
AMG E55 7.54.265
Chrysler 300C 8.13.571

Turns out the F6 isn't as fast as I thought. (Throws flamesuit on)

The Beemer is way faster than the E55 and the Chrysler was just terrible on the track!!

Anyone else had a go with this game??...

Bent8, you will find a few threads on GT4 around the forum. Most people are now waiting for GT5 on the PS3 next year.

Yeh I discovered there was a 300C in the game over 2 years after I first bought GT4. Only way I found out was when I visited the Chrysler dealer to buy a Crossfire in order to do one of the races that you need a Crossfire for.

Some of my GT4 Nurburgring times, using stock cars with tyres as they come when purchased, no oil change (unless bought second hand), manual transmission and T/C and other aids all switched OFF (Fastest to slowest):

Honda NSX-R Concept '01.............................7'42.145
Nissan Skyline GTR R34 M-Spec Nur '02...........7'48.908
FPV GT '04............................................... .7'56.781
FPV F6 Typhoon '04....................................7'57.522
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR TME '00.....7'57.924
Audi RS 6 Avant '02....................................7'59.173

Thats all there is in stock form in the top 10. I've tried getting a standard R32 GTR under 8 mins but was always a few seconds off, even with a perfect run. My fastest modded Typhoon time is 6'37.226.

Would of been great if more than top-ten times were saved.

Had a play of the prologue the other day with the f430 for about 10mins. Have to say i was a little underwhelmed with the short time i had on it but will leave my decesion on the game till i have more time to play.

Very nice visuals and sound, just wish that playstation would dump the dated hand controller. It sort of feels like your playing a ps1 or ps2, not a ps3.

I've put hours and hours into this since i set my wheel up

Merc E55 AMG 7.41.132
FPV GT 7,50.something
FPV F6 7.45.768
Nissan Silvia 240RS '83 8,06.192
Toyota Supra SZ-R '97 8,09.438

But my best effort...
BMW 330Ci 7.59.827
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10v_uTfDNc4

Those are all with the Traction control etc off, an oil change and S2 tires (the ones most of the road cars come with) though if you want more realistic times you should buy the N1 Standard/Economy tires but thats a bit harder. I am trying to get a M3 CSL under 8 minutes at the moment with N1's.

EDIT: sorry about the quality of the video, i plugged the PS2 into my laptops external tv card and it looks kinda weird. Worth a look though it took me months to get it under 8 minutes.

Well I gave the GT an oil change, took it on the Ring again and got 7.54.706 on the 1st lap!!...power went from 388 to 414bhp!!!..if only it was that easy IRL ;)

Excellent work there Ken2903 with the 330Ci...

There's an XR edition of Ford Racing for the PS2, saw it at DS the other day and I was gonna buy it but I thought it'd be better to spend $50 on fuel and drive the real thing!!
