Undercar neons are not neccessarily illegal. It may pay for you to have a read of your States "Road Traffic Act" or equivalent. I am in WA and my neon install so far seems to be completely legal.
This could be entirely wrong, but I am pretty sure as long as the beam from the light is not directly visible (i.e you can't see the globe, the light needs to shine down, or, reflect off a surface as desired), and you are not allowed to have forward facing blue or red lights visible. Oh, and the lighting must also operate completely independantly of the cars main lighting wiring (i.e, it's own circuit, and switched). Another rule of thumb I have heard is the globe is not allowed to be visibile from 7 meters back on flat ground. Anyway, as for the pics... http://picasaweb.google.com/ClontarfX Check a couple of those out |

General consensus in NSW is you can have them but they cant be on while the car is moving.
Also, if you do get them, get LED's as they are more resistant to shock/dirt etc etc, all of which youll get under a car. Neon tubes can break pretty easily.

In the ACT they are illegal. We had Mr Police Officer come to our club meeting one time and he declared that Neons were illegal. I told him that the Nissan owners club meeting was next door. :hihi:
J/k. He did tell us that you cannot use them. There was other type of lights which also illegal. |

FFS You Wingnuts, RICE = RACE INSPIRED COSMETIC ENHANCEMENT
Last time I looked, no speedway/drift/super/champ/indy car was running neons. NEONS aren't race inspired. Post after post of stupid, stupid people....... Brent, they can be on the car up here just don't drive with them on. And get full length side and preferably front and back bars for that floating on glow look.

For about six weeks in late 2003, they were cool. Those handful of people were slapped, and it was never cool again.
