Does anyone now anything about the suspension fitted to SR wagons?
I know they are lower than a standard wgn and was wondering what ford fitted to them (is it xr6 stuff?) I think only the front is bit lower that a forte im looking at lowering my car front & rear and was wondering if i get KING SPRINGS(part number KFFL-57C for the front FOR-618 for the rear) They are the low ones NOT SuperLows will it have much of an affect on the front i want it to sit lower all ROUND & EVEN (the back sits up higher at the moment).... yep, wagon only SRs got sports suspension,I contacted ford about its origin and apparently its not tickford stuff,But I have my doubts as these guys are allways inconsistent with there information and I wouldnt think they would design a completely new suspension pakage for 1 run out model,Im betting its XR6 suspension.
Its feels as firm if not firmer than my Xr6 ute,and ways firmer than our AUII ghia : :

It would only be the front though wouldn't it? The rear is still leaf spring, which doesn't cost much to have lowered anyway.

im sure that if any au falcon with anything tickford had a tickford plate listing the tickford components IIRC, i think there was even someone with an SR or fairmont with the tickford plate and suspension being listed

SR's are definitely lower and I'd be thinking it is Tickford gear too, more than likely the ute setup as its leaf sprung rear end.

And most likely wouldn't have a tickford badges, xls utes have xr suspension but don't carry any badges specifying it. |

Hmm interesting.. I'm considering having the wagon dropped a little mid year when I have to replace the shock absorbers.
Might look at XR height. I can't go too low, I carry a family in the car. |
