i have a 1977 escort panelvan 2 litre. it has an Auto in it...
i want to put a 5 speed in it.. what would fit that is reasonably cheap.. |

I think Dellow was doing adaptors for cilicar 5spds at one stage, and or check the CRS site they used ot do this but who know now Hoppers have come in and jacke th eprice and disoed the service

i just sold my escort P/V 2.0L 5 speed the easiest way is use a type 9 box (as there known as) out of a ford sierra they are the same as the escort 4 speed but have a plate between the main case and extension housing to allow for the extra gear ect and the shifter is a bolt on type. you have to move the hand brake lever back a little and cut the hole in the floor a bit bigger to allow the shifter to come back and you will have to move the console back to if you have one. std tail shaft will still work. all the clutch and clutch cables will still work cheers jak |
