Default Nissan Stagea

I'm gonna be looking for a new family truckster soon and was wondering if any one has had anything to do with the Stagea? Any thoughts?

I saw one at maccas recently, look hot for a wagon.
And dunno if the brakes are stock or not but it had Brembos.

Have a look at a mitu Legumn, Twin Turbo, AWD, AYC, Look better than a Stagea aswell, but you can't go wrong with a stagea aswell, either a rb or a vq engine, if you feel the need for speed you can get GTR version aswell

I was going to buy a Legnum a few months ago until I drove one. Not very quick and the interior is the same as an old Magna.

I nearly bought the Autech 260RS Stagea. It is basicly a R33 Vspec GTR wagon, twin turbo RB26, Brembos, etc.
They are good value, but the earlier ones are ugly. They do look hot with a R34 GTR front end conversion.

Nissan Stagea's are quick with the RB25DET with all wheel drive and backed up with a 4 speed auto and respond well to basic Skyline mods (same engine, same auto box) and great value for $$

oh yeh the front end BNR34 GTR front end conversion would set u back 3k but looks better for it but u can only do it with the latter model

stock stagea's are NOT quick!

my brother had a 00 or 01 model with the neo 6 engine. stock it wasn't much quicker than a falcon. they are pretty heavy cars and the awd system chews up a lot of power.

having said that, being forced induction and a skyline at that they are an awesome strong motor and fairly easy to get good power from.

inside they have all the mod cons as well.

as far as awd systems go you can't really beat the nissan system (atessa?) and with 4.3 diff gears std they do launch pretty hard.

I agree with prydey. they are not real quick from stock, but it doesn't cost a huge amount to get them motoring good and proper. saw one make an FPV-GT look like a granny in an excel. and my money was on the GT. Got poor that night :(

For a wagon they are a good alternative for someone who has a pulse. Id definitely get one instead of a BA/BF wagon, alot cheaper too and you can find manual ones aswell.

This is the model I'm thinking of. They seem to be going for around $13k at the moment. It will eventually become the missus' car hence I'd prefer the awd setup (she doesn't enjoy sideways) and they seem to fit the bill in all other aspects. "Wally World"?? I gather you oppose my way of thinking? lol

Im not a fan of the old one at all.

But for $20,000 the newer one is priced well...

With the rb25 or rb26 det engines. Made a real power house for the wagon family.

My second car is an r33... I can vouch for the rb25det being a good strong engine with plenty of power available. If you want a manual add another $2 - $5k on top of an equivalent auto... I've got an auto box in my skyline and it hauls . My mate has a newer r33 with equivalent mods and mine kills it every time. That said my car has a MVauto's stage 2 shift kit, stally etc....

My next car will be a stagea .

I was going to ask what the hell is a 'Truckster'.

But then I looked at some of the pics and see it must be a new name for a Station Wagon...

dont count your chickens if you want a manual........ I wanted a manual one but cheapest i could find is 5-7k more expensive, researched why and apparently only ~2% were made manuals from factory.

Having said that, go for it dude they are awesome! Intercooler and a boost controller in an auto will see low 14's!

I was gonna buy my missus one, but she wanted an au wagon...... go figure.....
