Default Need an AU ute shell, any clues?

Hi all,
Does anyone have any idea where I might find a straight AU ute shell?

I thought someone here might know of one, but still not see my post in the "wanted" forum due to not having any parts to sell themselves. Any help appreciated.

try your local wreckers or even FTG (site sponsor) surely they will have a straight shell. you could ask Ford as well. they may have ute shells there....dont forget that the B series one is exactly the same AFAIK....except for the badging.

Cheers Keith

what do you want the shell for?
would a flood damaged car do the trick?

Yeah, actually a swimmer would do just fine, but I thought they'd still bring 3 grand or so because of the parts that come with it.....in hindsight tho, a grand to fifteen hundred should pull one up, eh, or even less on the right day.
Then I can discount the cost for anything I sell off it.

Thanks Davway......I'd thought of that but couldn't see the forest for the trees

What is the difference in B-series to AU ... I thought the structural design was near identical (except taillights, side rubbing strips, etc.)

Well theres a thread on here somewhere where a guy put a BA front on an AU and it was semi-major custom work.......inner guards, etc. etc. etc. are different
It was FAR from bolt-on

floor is different too, found that when putting BA seats into my AU, i got them thinking they would bolt straight in considering the shell/body structure looks identical to an AU but they changed a lot of it when designing the BA.
Front rad support is different, the front guard/sill panel is different at the front too. Fairly big job changing it to a BA.

I know the front is completely different.

I was under the impression Austin was talking about the front end of the TUB ... not the front end of the vehicle.

Thanks mate, that is nice alright, but mine is perfect, I'm actually after a bare cab/chassis, you know, bare front, bare cabin, bare rear rails, but I still went n had a look at it. So thanks for the reply.

PS....the ebay one doesn't have a hardcover, its just an "almost flat" soft tonneau.

And he was decent enough to save me heaps of time and calls, pointed me to a competitor.......

Second call.......Guy says they go thru em on a regular basis

..........I now have two to choose from

And to think I was on the verge of wrecking it out.
