Unhappy TX Territory steel wheels on AU2 ute - Front wont fit!! HELP

I bought some TX Territory steel wheels today to fit on my AU2 ute, and i got the back on fine, but the front don't seem to fit. The tyres are hitting the top of the suspension.

I have seen a couple of pics in here with them on an au ute. Mechan1c and another have done it, andyone know what i need to do? Do i need different sized tyres (they are 235/60R17)? or do i need spacers?

Please Help

the 235* 60 series is 4*4 spec... height is nearly 20mm taller on the radius than stock

No, the Territory tyres won't fit a Falcon :

Dwag, the 60 in the size means that the sidewall height is 60% of the tread width. As has been explained you need something in the 40-50% range, depending on tread width.

Territory tyres are (in the old system) just over 28" tall.

Falcons need something up to around 26"

I'm just about to put 17s' on my wagon and am wondering how's your speedo reading with 235/45s' ? My speedo already reads 5km/h slow with stock 215/60/16s' and the 253/45s' are smaller radius. I was looking at 235/50/17or even 225/55/17 to keep my radius and speedo close to right.

I was wondering why they didn't fit .... so i asked about the tyres you were using ... hahahahaha ... umm ... yeah Territory size tyres will NOT fit at all.

I had 235/45R17 rubber (same size used on Falcon XRs from factory) ... and it was a perfect fit.

Although seeing the 235/60R17 size rubber on a Falcon would look cool ... I was going to test and take photos one day actually still cold on the BFII ... hahahahah

Yes Bushbasher my speedo does read slow but only about 5kmh so that's not a problem as when I'm on long trips I use a GPS as the speedo to set my cruise control. Also this is the size Ford recommended.

They'll fit on the rims but they're too small in a practical sense. Not wide enough to protect the edges of the rim and too low in profile to be comfortable. 225/45R17 is the starting point, 235/45 is most common, 245/45 will protect the rim edges if you or the other half is gutter prone.

The territory tyres are for SUV's not for cars, thats your issue.
You can fit 235/45/17's easy, but ask for tyres to suit a falcon.
The rims are the same size so no probs fitting to a falcon.

I was thinking about getting Territory wheels for my BA Falcon but it looks like the offset is wrong. Or am I mistaken, will they fit?

they will fit if you put the right size tyre on. He was trying to put wheels straight off a terry on (with 4wd size rubber)

sorry to bring up a super old thread guys. I bought a set of terry rims with 235/45/17 tyres on them. When i tried to put them on the lug nuts were about 5mm too short so I couldnt tighten them up all the way.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a solution?

P.s yes i realise the tire size has nothing to do with the fitting of the rim

so it turns out that the thread on the rear wheel hubs are longer than on the front of the wagon (au), front wheels fit nearly perfectly, rear ones I had to get longer nuts which the caps dont fit onto......looks fairly ridiculous at the moment.
