Milk leaked from groceries a couple of weeks ago behind the seat in the AU ute. I asked wife to make sure it was clean, and of course she just wiped it up so now it stinks. I've tried carpet cleaner, Glen-20 and that stuff you use one drop of to absorb odors ... but it's still there!!!
Anyone got any other ideas? Maybe just air it out thoroughly or something? |

Get an ozone generator, it will get the smell out of everything.

Go to the supermarket and get some stuff called FABREEZE. Spray it on the affected areas including the seats and it'll neutralise any bad smells.

nothing works permanetly on milk and cat ,you can hide the smell for a while but the moment carpet gets damp it will smell worse than the time before.
pull seats then carpet and underlay, wash all floorpan with good disinfectant then dump underlay in bin and pressure clean carpet ,buy new underlay, dry carpet and re-install.

Hire a carpet cleaning machine from kennards and give it a go. Use hot water in the unit and use the little head to really massage it in there. You'll probably need to add some stronger cleaner than the shampoo they provide, something like a spot remover or a multi purpose cleaner should work. I've used a combination of this method on many a car and have never had odours come back.

i had vomit on the back seat of my car imbeded deep in the fibres. never got it out. as soon as it got damp, or was exposed to heat, it would stink. i could never get rid of it. i only tried the standard cleaners and odour killers. It was only a corolla, so it didnt really bother me

Wash or rinse with PLENTY of Bi Carb and water..
Just warm.. Too hot will harden the milk solids ... No need to wash off, just dry as much as you can.. Now you have learn't to CLEAN up milk in the first place.. Waste of time trying to over scent the smell..
