Hi,
A good friend of mine had his car stolen from Summernats. The car usally resides in Western Sydney but could be on its way anywhere in the country, So keep your eyes out and please pass on the warning. He has spent considerable cash on this car not to mention hundreds/thousands of hours personally building this unique car. This was its maiden voyage to summernats and was stolen last night/early this morning between 3am - 6am from outside his hotel. It was roaming around summernats on Friday, seen and enjoyed by all. Car description is as follows. Isuzu 4wd fitted with a Holden LS1 and associated drivetrain (Holden GEN3 5.7litre V8) fully engineered. 24 inch rims Freshly painted black New interior I dont have an actual photo but this link loosly resembles how this model looks like, note it has 24 inch rims and a thumping loud 5.7 litre V8. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=30wl6e1&s=2 If you were at the Summernats, did you see it? do you know of its whereabouts? Do you know where the parts may be? We feel it was stolen using a tow truck/tilt tray as its very noisy to try and start it. Please contact the Canberra Police if a vehicle or parts matching my description turn up in your area. Otherwise PM me, there is a considerable reward for its recovery. Please take a minute to relay this message to your contacts. If anyone has a login to ls1.com.au please copy and paste this info on that forum. |

Thanks for keeping eye out.. My understanding is car was not insured. Car was modified to a high standard and insurers were not interested/charged ridiculous premiums.
This person has seriously put some hard time into this car and a real injustice for this car to be taken from him. We all appreciate someone who mods their cars to a high standard and hate those who damage or steal someone elses property. Appreciate all keeping an eye out and tapping into your contacts to keep a lookout. Last edited by RAPID_BA; 10-01-2010 at 12:47 AM. |

It is always bad when a car gets stolen, whether daily driver or something really special... But to spend a packet of money on it and not to insure it....?

I will let our Boys know to keep an eye out for it around the NSW Panelshops
Hopefully it will appear on the outskirts of Canberra after a short joy ride and he gets it back in one piece (I can dream can't I) Last edited by PANELCORP; 10-01-2010 at 02:58 PM. |

I feel for your mate. That car could be anywhere, as 1 thing I have noticed over the last few of years of going to the 'Nats, is there is always alot of interstate tow truck floating around. Wonder if Dave Ritchie is still in jail? (Car thief who bought the Hilliers XP Coupe). Anyway, good luck, and I hope his luck improves. |
