" A group of students from Saitama University in Japan showed up to the Tokyo Auto Salon with a 2JZ-GE powered MkIV Toyota Supra dressed up like Nick Cage's Eleanor from the very bad to watch Gone in 60 Seconds remake. Not familiar with Eleanor? Aside from being far and away the best part of the film, Eleanor is a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that's been gone over with an epic-tooth comb. But let's not get to far afield. This car is not a Ford, nor is it a Mustang. It's a Toyota with a mighty straight-six (no word if the 2JZ-GE is in fact the brawny turbo-fied version, the 2JZ-GTE) cut to look like a classic Shelby 'Stang." Sourced > http://www.autoblog.com/2010/01/18/t...-mustang-duds/ whoosh...sneeze, whoosh....sneeze, Why ?!

from memory, Chip Foose styled the car for that film and although there are similarities - this doesnt come even remotely close imho.

hahah thats wicked. I love it! It means nothing to me that it is supposed to be a cult car or something else. I love it because it's something thats come so far out of left field it's left everyone going WTF!! I hope it's the mighty 2JZ Turbo though. Anything less really would be a waste though

What's wrong with it? It's something different isn't it? At least it isn't an *insert cliche jap car here* blinged up to the max with *insert random tasteless jap mod here*that usually gets paraded around.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, though I must admit they should have used a turbo 1UZ........

One person said that the front looks like 'the fish guy from Star Wars'.
His name was Admiral Ackbar...he was a Mon Calamari. I tend to agree... But I reckon the car itself is a good effort...

Elanour Mustangs are a pox on humanity. The original GT500's weren't my favourite Shelbys but they were better than that Jerry Bruckheimer influenced dribble.
Therefore an Elanour influenced Supra doesn't bother me.

The new Eleanor mustangs in the USA are the best. Couldn't be stuffed finding a link for it though. Will take photo's next time.

outback_ute your pic looks much more like a Mustang than either the Supra or Skyline both of which look like someone on LSD's version of a Mustang.
