I used to buy PFM too because of the modern era (ie made this century) modified Fords. But over the last 12 months they've been doing mainly older Fords and I lost interest, which meant they might have been gobbled up by the competition, which already does older-ford mods.

Perhaps me not buying their mags has hurt their bottom line and they are gone? Sounds like I'm not the only one to feel this way. I too haven't seen them in a while.

I heard that they have gone down the tube, and maybe JR went with them.
If he's around here, I'm sure he could answer.

JR left them in May last year, there were some issues produced since then but seemingly not as regularly (that or I kept missing them)...

I was writing for Performance Holden and I am sure that has since been canned. I wouldn't be surprised if PF has gone under too. They were cutting back the regularity of the issues. I won't say any more than that...

I bought a subscription to it, then they only sent me 3 magazines and I never got one ever again after that....

Shame, I got a subscription of PF over street fords because the magazine feels and looks of much higher quality haha.

A friend of mine has a car featured in No 71. They rang him recently and went through the article with him. They told him it would be out in March.

They have a website http://www.aznue.com.au/Workshop/default.asp which confirms the latest issue is issue 70.

Its healthy to have competition and it was good to have 2 quality Ford mags after all these years not having any but the print media is having tufftuff times due to the net,I hope they get themselves out of deep water.

Be careful what you wish for... the net is taking over, but the reality of Internet based editorial teams is less staff and smaller budgets because the revenue models simply aren't as strong as magazines.

When it comes to car content the biggest hit from smaller budgets comes with unbiased tech articles. These are the articles that take time to prepare, research, write and shoot.

The net is great for immediacy, but the trade off is (more often than not) a reduction in photographic quality, grammar mistakes and poor writing (sub-editing is all but tossed out the window), and a reduction in research time per article and planning allocated to each issue.

Competition is healthy for us, the consumer, but it's not always healthy for the Magazines...
