So the horn on my AU TS50 doesn't work... Press either horn button - nothing happens...
So I removed the horn/air bag to test it in my other AU (TE50) and the moment I plugged it in, the horn blares without even pressing the button!?! Any ideas what might be going on? |

Check the horn switch with a ohms meter to see if the switch is stuck on.

also could very well be the air bag is no longer working or even the clock spring. same sort of thing was wrong with mine the horn kept on going off ie it was blaring all the time had to pull the fuse in the end.
It turned out to be the air bag was stuffed, got another of ebay and all good now for 5 years

Thanks guys. I'm sorry for the simple question, sometimes it just really helps to think out aloud and get fresh responses.
Turns out it was a combination of things (which always makes diagnosis more difficult). Faulty airbag/horn assembly (stuck ON) and missing fuse (obviously taken out as a quick-fix). Thanks guys, should have a fuse and new airbag on it's way soon. |
