Just this afternoon in the course of a 2 minute trip to my parents place...
Used the mirror to see where I was whilst maneuvering out of my driveway...go to parents place...come out 20 minutes later, and my mirror glass is hanging out of the housing?? Managed to fit the main section back into place but there was a pin that has come out (and I'm not sure if anything else fell out). Now it's not falling out but it's loose and has tilted downwards again. It does respond to using the electric motor but it's range of movement is very limited. Are these things an easy repair, or is it worth just grabbing another one from the wreckers? The painted section on the back - does this just clip off so I can swap it straight over to another one??

Get a replacement one if you can ... you can get them through any wrecker ... or even brand new through online parts places for about $50 all in one piece.
The back scalp clips off in about 3-4 places ... a long flat blade screw driver helps. Make sure you can an AU mirror housing ... as I think the B-series ones have different clips ... but look identical from outside.
