Also Steve try Depulu wheels on the Goldie, I know it's a bit of a drive but they fixed my old 20's so the looked and felt like new.

Bit of 2 x 4 and a mini sledge will knock that out (or in, as the case may be).
I'd still try the council - they are liable for damage caused by potholes and the like.

If you're prepared to trek to the northen end of the GC, either Depulu (Ashmore) or Dr. Wheels (Molendinar) are very good wheel repair places.
Dr. Wheels repaired the XR18s on my old AU for around $80/rim when I found out that they were all egg-shaped along their inside edges.

I have new mags on my car (40th Ann wheels) and I did one a few weeks ago plus 2 tyres in a monster pot hole (12 inches deep) that appeared after the damn flooding. Council sent us to Vic Roads as they are in control despite it was in the middle of town so I dealt with it myself - all too hard.
Had mine rolled - VERY succesfully! Back on the car and new rubber and a repair on the rear. Ask around and repair if you can. Cheers GT

They start small and end up big, and then they go kerbang. In otherwords, take JG65TE's advise. Throw the tyre away, unless you don't think your life is that valuable.
