Default Ulp

Hey guys, has the regular ULP been phased out at some pumps already? I could only find premium 95 and E10 and the premium is so expensive.

Yes, it is already on the way out. Not many stations have the capacity for 6 different fuels... the lowest common denominator (ULP) has no option but to be replaced with E10.

What happens when E85 comes in?? I wonder what is next on the chopping board?

95.
They will only have 98 as premium, as a guess.

Weren't some states making E10 91ron mandatory instead of regular 91ron unleaded.

BTW Melbourne has plenty of choice of different fuels.

Between the Northern burbs, right through to the Eastern Burbs and city of good ol' Adelaide, it's still plentiful.

Come to think of it, even right down the Southern burbs of Adelaide it's around in plentiful supply.

ANd this is why I hate The Greens and all environmentalist parties that lack any perspective or understand that the cost to the consumer increases with little schemes such as this...

Doubt its environmental really, it would be more to make petrol seem cheaper (yes I know a whole 4c). Cheaper petrol makes voters less angry.

On the surface yet, but I am still skeptical of the long term effects of 10% ethanol, plus the fact that in theory it burns faster...(I'm not a scientist).

Funny how back when petrol was 60c a litre back in 1998, nobody cared about the 4c coupons. Now that the prices are higher, people are going batpoop over it. Thing is, 4c off per litre whether its 60c a litre or $1.50 a litre is still only 4c a litre, and the saving total will be the same.

I might save myself a couple of dollars, but I cannot be bothered lining up, waiting for others.

I buy petrol on Fridays when it seems to be cheaper.

That's how I cope.

Where's it 4c cheaper? It's only 1.5 cents cheaper at Shell Geelong.

In Sydney, E10 is ALWAYS 3c cheaper at a minimum.

We still have standard 91 around the Adelaide hills (at least at the petrol stations I've gone to) maybe its more in the city that it changes?

I don't know... I don't really care either because I only ever use 98Ron in my car.

I know down in Bundaberg a new servo that opened up and it only sells E10.

It's a bit of a worry when a lot of cars can't use E10. My old '82 Celica can't, my mothers 1996 Mazda 121 isn't allowed to use it. The government also totally ignores the fact that ethanol is an energy-negative fuel...it takes more energy to produce it than you get out of the end product.
Seeing as how E10 makes your vehicle get worse fuel economy, I also fail to see how deliberately making your car use more fuel is "good for the environment"...

So when/if ever 91RON gets the flick, will 95RON drop in price? And then 98 will drop aswell?
