hey guys i scored a close ratio box a few years ago and i couldn't be bothered turning my column into a floor shift. is it possible to put the close ratio gears into the original column box? i can't see it being a problem, but a mate and i have differing opinions. plus i think it'd be cool as, having a close ratio column shift.

Definatly possible!!
I was going to do the same with my mk 2 corty. But converted it to floorshift instead. Im gussing your talking about a mk2 cortina by your name. You can do it but the only difference selectors are on the top of the box for column shift & the floor slelectors are longer & in the rear extension housing. I'd say it would be easier to swap the selectors over than the gears. that way you wont have to dismantle as mutch. It is pretty tricky if you havent played around with gearboxes before. |

i want to put a set of bearings through it anyway, so it doesn't really phase me about pulling it apart. more concerned about the actual gears fitting inside the box without fouling.
