Default BA front end on AU

Hi
Is it true that you can put BA Front 1/4 Panals, Bonnet, front end and Lights etc on to an AU.
Direct replacement.

Thanks

Don't see why you'd want to, but the front 1/4 panels and bonnet will bolt straight on, but the radiator support will need to be swapped out for a BA radiator support...

its not as simple as that. Bonnets are hinged diffrently (locations), top rails and radiator support need major modifications. The Dok did it to his wagon, search the AU builds and you will find it. Not as straight forward as one may think.

That's him. What he thought was a straight forward swap turned into a full scale front end modification.

I your gonna change the front of an AU, make sure it's still within the AU stable, like a T or S series kit etc.

If you want a B-series front, buy a B-series. it will be a lot cheaper than mucking around with panels.

I read of a guy with a maroon AU wagon who spent countless hours and money grafting a BA XR front end on his wagon. Fine if you your wallet is burning a hole in your pocket, but in my opinion only, it's pointless.

heres another with pics.

your best bet would be to attempt it on something with major front damage- as you can see from the pics in the link above- just how much has to be stripped out of the front end.

They look alright. Wonder how they stack up in a front end accident.

....go into your kitchen and drop a glass.

At least do a ute or wagon so it looks half good.... But with the cost you might as well just get a BA. They're so cheap now.

If the vehicle you are going to do the conversion has had a front end smack go for it if not think twice and think again, as said above not just a bolt on job. Seen it done a couple of times but both times vehicles had front end damage.
