Default ecoboost vs 86 / BRZ

i was looking through a motor or wheels mag last week and they had a comparison of about 20 or so cars
0-100, 0-400, wakefield park times and so-on

the fastest car was a new 300C srt-8 but the interesting parts was the ecoboost was faster than the 86 in most cases including the track time
the ecoboost did a 1.11 with Warren Luff driving
while the 86/BRZ did a 1.13
the ecoboost was faster in a straight line too
correct me if i'm wrong
and warren said the ecoboost was great but the auto let it down

this tells me ford should make a 6 speed manual ecoboost

and seeing fors can't give them away make a 1 make race series using ecoboost falcons (XR4T's maybe).

Aside from the crazy method of comparing a sports car to a family car I agree, the EB would be great with a manual.

/awaits the usual cry of no one buys manuals any more but I have no evidence to back it up

There reason there is no evidence is because hardly anyone is buying new manual falcons, YOU INCLUDED.

When I bought my manual XR6T ute in April it was the first manual FG2 they had sold.......

As far as making the EB4 a manual, the reason it goes so well is that it is an auto and does not dump boost during gear changes like a manual. An auto FG2 6T would eat mine over the 400m......

The 86 has already been compared to an EB falcon and every other car on the market in the closed 86 thread.
We dont need another.

yeah most people would prefer to drive (and be quicker) in the 86/BRZ on a track than a taxi.

While the EB is a great car it is no sports car.. This test highlights the deficiencies of other cars in the comparison rather than put the EB up there as a sports car conquering car... What does an XR6T do around that circuit, by the way?
