Make sure you get a Xmas card. You could spend a fortune on a present but if you dont get that card with some nice words of your own your in trouble

How long have you been together? This is very important. And how old are you/she?

Anything pink or 'girly' will end your life! Give her the means to get a horse though, and no one except the horse will ever see her again! I'd ask whoever it is what they'd like, unless I already knew, and then maybe add a couple of smaller surprises. |

Anything that you wouldn't buy for yourself is a great start!
Perfume is nice, but it's a hard ask as a) you've probably noticed scents on "other" girls that you like and can't remember their names (the perfumes!) b) shopping for perfumes is harder than buying a used car, c) she'll kill you if she ever finds out that you've bought the perfume remembered in reason "a". Big plus for jewellery. Earrings, bracelets with inscriptions, and necklaces. For the uneducated bloke (most of us) there is a thing called "face sets" which are a combination of matching necklace and earrings - impress her with your knowledge that you know what a face set is - sort of like the impression a girl gives you when she can explain the difference between LSD and ABS. Personally I'd steer off rings, they might get the wrong idea, unless that is your idea and you're testing the water. Learn from my fail: Do not buy anything kitchen/house related, no matter how practical it may seem, it's a BAD idea. While I'm on the subject of practical gifts for a love interest, you can ninja a practical gift in as long as it is accompanied by an impractical romantic gift. 3 presents are better than one: A practical gift, a CD of a group she likes, and some jewellery perhaps? Spread your options. She's gotta like one of them, shows you've thought about her too. I've said the above with tongue in cheek for humour, but it's some good advice. Don't forget about the card brother. A few genuine words from your heart to the lady matters! The words are probably the hardest to muster, and you'll not find them on this forum - she'll appreciate them the most. Cheers mate, and all the best to you and the Mrs for xmas.

Some excellent ideas on here,
I always go for one nice jewellery piece and a couple of other smaller pieces. You can never go wrong with a nice set of earnings as they can wear them to different occasions. Then something like a nice hamper from body shop or nice scented candle set. The main thing is the card, make it all soppy and heart felt and you are in for some Christmas action buddy. good luck |

Lingerie, that way you both get to enjoy.
kidding.... It depends on what she is like. I know with my mrs she is difficult to shop for. I don't bother buying her presents, she doesnt like naff gifts. She just likes what she likes when she sees it. I just give her cash or my CC and she is happy. Then again, we have a deal that what ever I spend on my car or bike she gets to spend on herself. Kind of a win/lose scenario. lol Best thing if your GF is particular, is to either get her a gift card, maybe take her on a surprise holiday, or give her some of your cold hard cash for her to do with as she pleases.

you buy too big, she thinks that you think she's fat
too small, she thinks she got fat & you didn't tell her tough situation there. start a fire in the house...easier to deal with

Yes! That's a good idea as long as she likes lingerie because some women don't and then she might feel like you want her to wear lingerie and well, it'll be a difficult conversation to make it better at that point.

We were walking past a vacuum shop one day and she made a comment about needing a steam mop. I took that as a "hint" she wanted it for Christmas. Apparently it wasn't a hint. Can't work women out sometimes.....Strange creatures.

She said it as a "ooh yea we need one of those but don't YOU even think of getting it for me as my Xmas present bc this is not a hint" right? Well we take pride in how strange we can be.....though not strange to other women, only to men it seems. Quote:

well obviously you know things she likes, whats shes into, her favorite colours, and things she doesnt like
so base it around that if you are completely stuck then go the day spa thing, but get a good package which includes everything, spend the money and dont skimp on price get a card too, not a joke one either
