these people stealing have no moral compass, friends of mine some years ago that where real battlers , living at parents place in melb while building a house on small acreage north of melb on weekends, got up there one weekend, bastards had broken in and removed house fittings, sinks , interior fittings, taken tools needed to finish the house off, raw materials, tools were locked in a container, they oxyed the lock off.
That`s bad luck mate, this time of year the thieving mongrels seem especially brazen, best of luck for your FIL getting stuff back.

A few years ago there was a bunch of guys from Ireland who rented some trucks and went round to farm houses stealing everything that wasnt bolted down.
Not sure what every happened to them or if they were ever locked up or not.

Theft from mines around here is a big issue, as well as road works stuff from the roadside and also farms where the farmhouse is nowhere near the area being worked.

It's simple...every day, a dozen times a day, all of us out here see flatbeds and trailers loaded with equipment going back and forwards, and also you drive past people loading gear onto these vehicles all the time at all hours of the day and night, and of course none of us think twice about it...until you hear of a theft, and then it's hard to remember because it's so common to see people doing what could, I suppose, be called "suspicious". Three or four guys in mine shirts loading a backhoe onto a low loader by the roadside at 6pm? Who knows...could be anything.

Single farm house one way road , close neighbors, night job ...in woman if someone farts a mile away you would know who it is by the smell ..but they still got away...that's life ..it would be stripped by now , but all irrelevant compared to the feeling of intrusion into your home ..

Any update on this?

I don't know the geography of the area you are talking about but is sounds like a small country town. Any chance there would be cameras watching any of the streets in and out of the town or surrounding areas??

It pains me to hear of these sort of crimes. I would be devistated to return home to see all my items stolen and my place ransacked.

Also, if there has been any specific stuff taken, I would be scouring every buy / sell site for the items... who knows, you may get lucky. Perhaps even put an add for 'parts wanted' and see if they take the bait...

Mongrels....

You would think... with mobile technology what it is that they could somehow see what number / IMEI code was in that area at that time? Everyone has a phone these days and I wonder how difficult it would be to find that information?

sounds like someone who knows them ,time spent stealing all of that shows confidence no one is going to come home anytime soon and catch them at it,

No mate , they head home day after boxing day , and everyone knows him for 100 mile radius ...and if they know him then yes they would also know all that he owns .
And yer I know what you mean with technology ...how about some satellite , Google replay or such ...we wish ...
Will be a lot more to add to the list and photos when I get back , but not holding our breath .
