Hi all.
2 weeks ago or so I got a parking ticket, how ever I lost it and just remembered, if it's not paid this week ( 21 days I think ) will I get a reminder in the mail? Or will they cancel my license or some crap? It was a council parking fine for $99 |

They will send you a reminder. Wait 9 months or so and they might apply sanctions like license cancellation.

They will send you a reminder (final notice) with added fees for administration costs, so it will cost you more than the original $99

When I got one that I only saw when it flew out from under my wiper, I just called the council and they were able to help me.

Might be an idea to go to the council office concerned and see if you can pay it before a reminder notice comes out...Talking over the phone doesn't really get you too far.
As for a licence cancellation....The way it works is, you get sent a reminder from the council (can't remember how many)....Then it goes to court....Courts send out their bill....Then they send out reminders (not sure how many)....final notice from the court is cancellation of licence and an order to seize goods to the value of... This process can take about 12 months, but please don't quote me over that time frame, nor whether what I have written is precise with the process..
