Default 2001 laser idling issues .and info required

Hi all have a project car for the youngster .
2001 laser 1.6 l auto whilst idling runs ok just when in gear it wants too stall.

Anybody have any ideas were i can start???
Also a workshop manual would be nice .
Engine oil, filter requirements etc etc ...
Any help appreciated

dont be thrown off - these are fitted with mazda engines

I prefer these repair manuals you can keep and print out seperate pages

I would start with a simple tune up
if it idles ok
spark plugs/leads failing - can cause a stall under load

a timing belt renewed when required - will prevent an engine failure

in general a 2001 laser are a good car if maintained

I have one under my care at this time

yes for sure this car very tidy ...Will start and go over them things this week hopefully .
