Okay, on Saturday I was at the woollies with my brother in law filling up his territory. We admired a rolls Royce phantom next to us, until we saw he was filling it up with E10 petrol. Seriously, you spend close to a million on a car only to fill it up with cheap fuel which I believe it is not eve compatible for. Made me wonder what other weird automotive stuff people have seen.

Or more likely he has bought the car based on brand but doesn't have an interest or single bit of knowledge on them or other cars. I am guessing he knows no better and wont be until he has a problem he will find out |

Just had a quick look and Phantoms are compatible with E10..
Rolls Royce: E10 is cleared for use in all Rolls Royce models starting with model year 2003, the launch of the Phantom model. I definitely see what your saying but rich people don't become or stay rich by wasting money. A lot of my clients who are wealthy millionaires are actually quite tight with their money. They do splurge though...

Gee that Poo brown 991 with the red interior looks shocking. Typical Queenslander car. Surprised Porsche allowed the colour combo. All Queenslanders taste in cars (and just about everything else) is up their a*ses, so it doesn't surprise me.

I forgot to mention it was a petrol Winnebago. (I suspect it was a Ford 6.8 V10)
So yeah I guess when youve got something that uses 30+L/100km you need to save every cent you can.

Once saw a bloke putting air in his tyres at the servo. It was one of those where you lock it onto the valve until it beeps to let you know the right air pressure has been reached.
Anyway, it beeped and he simply drove off with it still attached to his valve. It unraveled the air hose then strained until it popped off the valve. The bloke just continued on driving out of the servo driveway as if nothing had happened.

Butch chick with the dog collar and studs was pumping up her tyres on her Daewoo Barina before me. Left the car there (dropped the pump on the floor rather than come and hand it to me) and went inside to buy something from the servo.
Went to get the gun and noticed she has the PSI set to something stupid like 55 or 60 pounds. She didn't look like the kind that would appreciate a guy telling her how to pump her tyres...

People covering rust holes with gaffer tape. Accident damage in rear quarters that has been panel beaten out so far, that it is proud of the original panel and full of rust. People driving around with severely busted tail light lenses. Blown bulbs. You let them know and they act like they don't care. Then you still see them driving 3 weeks later.

Had a new exhaust put on the XR8 was going into work carpark and watched a pretty well looked after VR/VS commodore scrape his exhaust on a speed bump loudly, thought that was pretty funny then i went over the bump and actually ripped my exhaust off after the rear muffler. Not as funny. Whoops.

Weekend in Mudgee, wondered why so many young ones doing laps of the main street had put turbos in old commodores and falcons. Speaking to locals, turns out you can get fake bov whistles you put in the exhaust. Never knew something like that existed.

There is a brand of rear lights that I have seen on some trailers / caravans / motorhomes that looks like it's broken.
There is a white lens then a red lens that is in front and has a curved design that looks like it's been hit and the other half has fallen off. There is a cool gadget I have seen under the hubs of a Unimog. Actually, I posted the question on here and got my answer. It looks like an octopus, except the arms are chains that spin under the tyres and create grip in snow. Think of it as a continuous revolving snow chain that runs below the tyre. Looks weird, after finding out what it was and how it worked it's pure genius.. Aussie invention I think?

Had a Honda Accord at work, open the bonnet to get the paint code and its B92P. Now this isn't that weird on its own, B92P is a nice looking deep black pearl on Honda's. The weird part is that the car was silver. It was like the factory had done it, there was no sign that it had ever been black apart from under the door jamb rubbers where it looked like they had masked it very hastily. It was really strange. But even if it was done by the owner that is still a bit weird, why pay to have a black car painted silver? silver is probably the most common colour for an Accord. Thats weird.

I follow the same path to the Railway Station in the nearest town. Every now and again I get stuck behind an old cream POS Datsun ute that has a maximum speed of 80km/h. The left-hand tail-light is always blown.
A few weeks back I noticed the right-hand tail-light is also blown...two days later it's working again but the left-hand one is still blown...why would you only replace one bulb two days after it has blown if your left-hand one has been gone for close to two years??? |

I used to hook the bin over the bumper and drag it down like you're describing but my drive is so rough it bounces around and scratches the car so #2 son drags it down on foot now |
