G'day people,
I was just trawling through Ebay, and found this, quite a nice job I reckon. You don't see an FG limo everyday! What do you guys think? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FG-G6-LIM...cAAOSw3v5YnvUj

Is it just me or is there a sag in the roof line, esp the middle side window.

At first glance it looks like it sags in the middle, but after a close look I think the roofline does follow on from the curves of the original cabin, it's the middle window that has been grafted on that's the problem I think. It looks to droop below the level of the original door windows, or maybe they should have engineered the additional windows with a similar curve to the actual roof line..

That has to be one of the worst stretch jobs I've ever seen. It looks like it was made by J. Clarkson Coachbuilders Ltd.

While this one in the eBay link hasn't been executed all that well:
A google search shows there are a few more FG limousines around, which have been made better, or at least differently: The fact a limo is for sale on eBay would probably suggest it's not a top-notch product anyway. Something of a higher value would presumably have its sale brokered in a more professional way. |

That six-door G6E was built by a coach builder in the UK. That is a properly done stretch, as is the white super stretch.

There is a thread from 2011 regarding the UK FG connection:
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?p=5439913 Seems they take a Falcon, and readily convert them into Limos and hearses. This is another link, from within that thread: http://www.coleman-milne.co.uk/used-stock-list/ |

coleman milne have been doing this for a long time ... with previous incarnations of Ford ... and I think they import LPG utes over there as well for the public if I'm not wrong.

I think, judging by photo number 2 (of thr original white one) that the roof is right but visually looks droopy, it seems in that pic they have not continued the surrounding window/body rubber correctly, it stops level with the front of the back door and starts again at the rear of the front door. I'm pretty sure the droopy roof is purely an optical illusion because of this.

I've been building hearses for 3 years now. I built the 2 E200 Mercedes Benz for KM smith in Qld. I can see what and why they do things the way they do. It all comes down to time V dollars. Yes you can shape glass, if you want to pay for it. Yes you can do lots of things to shape and modify body panels. I don't think it looks that bad, was done cheaper than the others.

You can see how the white one has the door 'scallops' deleted, whereas the others have them integrated along the extra length - the latter would have taken a lot of time and effort.

We fit a three piece tail shaft to all our cars. Cost around $1000.

Xr6 turbo motor swap. Imagine being beaten by a 5 metre long taxi, you'll be tripping balls.

Saw the same black one cruising into the city a week ago.
Thought to myself, wouldn't that be fun with 500kw on E85 ! |
