Default Full 2.5 inch xforce

G'day just wondering what power you turbo guys are getting out of your 2.5 inch full exhausts?? I'm supercharging my fg xr6 and gonna be running about 14 psi and wondering if the 2.5 inch will flow enough, reason I want to go 2.5 over 3 is cost effective and yeah concerned about how much louder a 3 inch will sound

I reckon that a 2.5 will be fine, the mufflers to make them quiet in my opinion are the biggest restriction, just go with a proven exhaust that people are using and finding makes decent power with nice driveability, it will get louder most likely once the charger goes on but I've gone through so many exhaust configurations to arrive at my current setup for the raptor, this should still be incredibly quiet and not drone but flow good as I am using a bimodal exhaust that I came up, but you have a limited budget and exhausts are expensive every time around.

And 3 inch is loud, mine was a 3 inch system all the way through and most recent change which still cost more than your whole xforce exhaust was changing the rear mufflers to a split over the diff running 2.5 inch mufflers which are bimodal, that alone set me back 1k just to change the diff back

Size depends on where you want the power (engine rpm)
(and how much noise you are willing to live with)

General numbers (From memory) for a hot street car from the old days:
dual 2.5" was good for around 500hp,
Dual 3" is good for around 800hp.

Bloke by the name of Vizard was the exhaust guru in the day - google his name, his articles explain why smaller can be better for scavenging exhaust pulses, and how to size mufflers to avoid power loss

I want it to sound tough when uping it, but just a nice shuttle rumble when cruising, I'm bloody confused haha heaps of mixed opinions not sure if the full 2.5 inch will flow enough or I have to get a 3 inch but yeah I'm thinking surely the full 2.5 inch system will flow well enough for 300rwkw, a 3 inch system can be pushed to up to 600rwkw so my thoughts is that a 2.5 inch system will be fine? Any other thoughts on this ?? Throw them my way as I don't know what to do?? Haha

I had a BF F6 with around 380rwkw with a twin 2.5 xforce. One of my FG Xr6 turbo utes has just on 300rwkw with a stock dump, high flow cat
into a twin 2.5 and my other FG Xr6 turbo ute has a single 3.5 into a twin 2.5 and runs about 420rwkw...a twin 2.5 should be fine

It's $803 which is a good price I think but yeah not sure it'll flow enough for 300rwkw

I would've assumed that 2.5 would've been a bit limiting when you start to get up in the bigger numbers. 3.5' seems to be the most common/popular option.

The stock FG turbo exhaust is mostly 3inch. 2.5 would be too small imo - you're better off going larger and making the power more easily. I'd be looking for at least 3inch or twin 2.5inch.

Yeah I got a quote from a exhaust shop called fat pipes and they quoted me 1100 for a full custom 3 inch exhaust think I'll go that option
