they arrested you? just for spinning the wheels on gravel... i did way way worse, did a doughie and fishtailed up the road, seen cops and took off. and all i got was 2 charges, careless and obscured num. plate. i go to court in 2 months, looking at 1 to 3 months the cop reckons.

also can't you get a work license ? or w/ever it is over there.. else just ask for leniency

i was caught doing that once too in the exact same situation except at a beach car park, and the boys egged me on, the next thing as im leaving the car park with a huge cloud behind me, a divi pulls in and blocks me off...i said "sorry officer, loose gravel.." ...it was one day before xmas and he was wearing a santa's hat so i couldnt take him seriously! :P ...but he ended up writing me up to get new tyes with in a week and show them to him at the local cop shop..lucky no canary

if your real lucky then not much.
my bro got busted speeding on his way up to queensland to work for 6 months.
it was fine that in victoria he would have lost points but in queensland it ment loosing his license for 3 months
so he was actually allowed to drive anywhere in australia just not queensland.

I got done for speeding (way over) on the hume hwy in Vic on a NSW licence. Didnt lose any points but was suspended from driving in the state of Vic for 1 month. I then got a Vic licence and still had all my points.
It did not make any sense. I thought points were taken off regardless of state fined and licence held.

If it gets to the stage of going to court, you can plead your case that your car is vital to work, 99% of the time they give you a point back on your license

Bit harsh I think man. I personally think if you explain it to the court that you "accidently" lost traction on the part where the gravel meets the road you may get some lenience.

All depends on what they read on the police report. Generally, you can get some good police reports if you are nice to the pelican that nabbed you. That is assuming you go to court for this??

If not, maybe you will get the option of 1 point for a year, or 3-6 months without licence? Thats the way it is in QLD

what u can do is appeal in court for 1 point to keep your licence for work, but if u lose that point u lose licence 4 6mnths, only way to get it is not to lie in court, tell everything you said that to the cop, becuase they will play the video and recording, neg driving is 4 points
