This is why you have to be careful picking paint from colour charts - you really need to see each colour on it's own...

I work in the printing industry and this kind of stuff comes up all the time, especially with colour matching. In particular with metallics like gold and silver. You will look at the colour match book and swear that all 6 samples are the same shade. But look at them on their own and they are WAY different.
Pretty interesting. |
