have you tried to polish/wax it, paint needs buffing to become shiny, it doesnt spray on shiny really.

no more then 10 in a can, tape up the area so as to have minimal over spray, then go for it, buff and polish to make it look normal. lots of light coats with a little dry time in between are better then one thick coat.

the brush touch up should be glossy, if you are spraying metallic paint from a can, it will be dull cos you have to put the clear coat over it

It wont matter, BUT if you plan on doing that then make sure all wax/grease etc has been removed first, and also give a light wet'n'dray sand with say 1200 to the area first to allow the paint to stick properly.

I would suggest posting some pics up, or a better description of how big an area affected, so you can get better advice before you may end up with a bigger area that stands out, black is so hard to work with, but looks so good too.

Nat if you want it to look like new ,go to a panel shop ! Sure it will cost a couple of hundred but at least it will look great !

Or if your comming up to Darwin anytime soon , I do paint and panel myself ! hahahahahaha

Those marks are way too big to try and just use touchup paint on. You'll ruin the bar.
