Just because the name is similar and its a small Ford (albeit really just a rebadged Kia) doesn't mean anything. They aren't the same car or even similar, there should be a section for Festiva, or you could use the Four Cylinder tech section. I don't know. Sorry, I just get touchy when people throw Festiva and Fiesta into the same bag of oranges : Having said that, good luck with your car matey, Just be careful in it, as their brakes were very woeful, as was their handling, and they had a dangerous tendency for sliding under a little more than normal brakes in the wet. Have fun doin it up anyways! |

hey dont knock the Festiva....my wife has one and apart from the panels being as easy to dent as butter the thing has been more reliable than any pretty much any car I have owned incuding Falcon...although my Foci is giving it a run for its money ;)
I also understand that it isnt a EuroFord, but then tachnically the only reason the new Foci is because of its engineering as it is certainly made in South Africa isnt it??? Scotty: Welcome to the forums, have fun, and check out www.eurofordclub.com for more on small fords and upcoming events and cruises with the club. Todd

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, the FESTIVA was NEVER engineered in Europe. It is PURELY Korean.... i dont think it was even SOLD in EUROPE!
IMO, the Festiva doesnt belong here.... Agreed with what Danny said... we dont know anything about the Festiva. It might have been reliable.... but it was never a drivers car.... Not saying you shouldnt do it up Scotty. I dont agree with everyones opinion... hell my friend loves his 1.4L Barina, and i see merits in it.... but its not for everyone. Im just saying that here, im not sure you will find any information as the Festiva never really generated "enthusiasts". Do you have a picture of the Festiva S? Im guessing it had alloys and a badge?

The point us "eurotrash" are tryin to make that the festiva is not a FIESTA and posts about a totally different car shouldnt be put into this section...
and the Fiesta owners i know HATE having their european engineered cars be associated with that obviously korean car..

Its quite funny actually.... this subforum is dominated by Fiesta... there is a Ka section..... but once again, we dont have any. Festiva.... well they were just cheap runabouts.
Associating the Festiva with a Fiesta is totally wrong. One is a solid built car that excites.... the other is a dull tinny car. Which is which?.... lets just say the Festiva is not an exciting drive....

lol..you guys are crack ups.
where else would you like the festiva section to go? Its small, newish and its a ford, this is where it belongs. And if someone cant tell the difference between a fiesta and a festiva then who cares. Of course sales dont equal a good car, lots of examples around, but face the facts; the festiva sell better than a fiesta. It was only a matter of time that one owner was going to need some info. And who owns a KA anyway, Ford hasn't sold the POS for ages!

Newish? 1998 was the last model... Yep, sales dont equal a good car. Im glad with that... it means there are less cars like mine on the road! Ummmmmmmm, The Ka was sold AFTER the Festiva. So, by saying "Ford Hasn't sold the POS for ages"... i guess your refering to the Festiva too? Please, the only reason why a Festiva was sold in numbers, was because it was a cheap, first car runabout.

I VOTE TO MAKE A NEW "FESTIVA" SUB SECTION TO AVOID THIS HAPPENING AGAIN.. and highly selling festiva owners can discuss their cars..!!
