Default Chrysler 300C

The 300C uses a 5.7L. Does the engine have anything to do with GM?

No, its unique to Chrysler. I'd assume it still has some of the basic design of the old Chrysler small block?

Then dont buy a car, it's just more to worry about breaking than if you walk or ride a bike... I would LOVE a 300C

Go point out the Overhead Cams in the V8 Supercar engines for me mate. My eyesight must be going. They must be in there somewhere next to the electronic supercharger and the fuel polarizer.

You should see the 300C police cars in the movie 'The Island'.
They look and sound fantastic.

Very underrated motors, the SRT version puts out around 470hp apparantly, more than Chrysler states.

Well I'm sure if 'fitty' and 'chingy' drove round in Fairlanes, Statemans, and come to think of it, Daewoos, all the mindless sheep would follow.

Yep .. 5.7L Hemi is a 5.7L Chevy ;)

Just like AMC 360s are Mopar 360s, AMC 390s are Ford 390s, Rambler 327s are Chev 327s, Mopar 350s (B-block) are Chev 350s, Chev 350s are Pontiac 350s, Buick 455s are Pontiac 455s, etc, etc, etc ..

But who's is the "real" 5.0L engine between Holden / Ford? I'm pretty sure Holden tagged it a 5litre first .. so 5.0L Falcons must have Holden engines?

Don't forget the Pontiac 4.9,Pontiac 6.6, Oldsmobile 6.6, Buick 350 ooh the list is ENDLESS!!!! I think there was a court battle in the early 70's over the "5 Litre" badging rights between Holden and Ford.

Who cares about all the technical stuff – the car looks HOT, I have been admiring them ever since they made their debut in the Supercar series as the safety car. Too me they just look incredibly sexy and I have toyed with the idea of trading the GT in for one. I will most definitely be taking one for a test drive in the very near future and well, you never know what I could bring home...

I'm with you PirtekGirl.......... except I'd only buy one if they introduce the 6.1L version. Pulls the 2tonne pig down the qtr in flat 13 STOCK!
I like the look of them.......silver with tinted windows would be ideal.

Yet they gave the Ghia and the Caprice 4.5 stars to the 300C's 4, so go figure. They also said the Ghia drove better but didn't have the quality and equipment levels of the 300C.

Tori I'm afraid you're on your own there. It is "different", but not a touch on the GT. I've an invite to drive one if you want the details of the launch.

saw some article about it on tv, and aparantly its the only car on the aussie market that can take 22 inch wheels without mods, of course the wheels and tyres would cost more than the car then, but hey, its nice to know

early this year topgear did a segment on the new pontiac 'aussie monaro' the 300c and this gay jag as a tri-nation modern mucsle contest,
they all hated the 300c and all 3 of the test drivers opted for the monaro!!
if ford australia exported the fpvgt then it would have smashed em all, the drivers said the 300c wins in gansta looks but rolls onto its door handles when cornerin

Evry one forgot to mention the 302 chev.
As for the chrysler,I once told my brother I was going to buy a phase three when I grow up and he said"when your old enough to drive they will all look like vintage cars",how did he know that in 1975?
My god cars are getting uglier

Oh My God i saw one at work and old guy driving it (in his 50's or 60's) and it was a two tone champagne and black with standard 22" rims. It look and sound class man. No wonder why they love them in the US. Ford and Holden better come up with a better luxury mafia style car cause the 300C gonna sky rocket in sales!

I went and checked one out at the local dealer the other day. The standard car only has 18's on it and I mentioned that I've seen a few pics with 20's and bigger on them and they looked good. Was told by the rep that as the car has built-in tyre pressure warning sensors that if you change the rims then Chrysler will void the warranty.

Apparently they are in the process of compliancing a set of 20" factory rims that will work with the tyre pressure sensors, due out middle of next year.
