As in the other thread, I want to turn it around.
What do you guys look for in a girl. And before you start, I'm not looking for 36-24-36, size 8 with DD cup, no gagging reflexes, no teeth etc etc..... |

What has already been said, i.e. smile, self respect etc.
Also she needs to be interested in me and actually listen to the stuff that I say, and not so paranoid about the way she looks, in otherwords, she has to be confident in herself.

Looks do help.
Some degree of self confidence that doesn't require the constant use of "yes you look good" all the time. Financially stable. Someone who isn't too clingy. We do need our own time. You don't have to like the same interests as us and if you don't, then have the courtesy not to whinge about what we do. Being able to hold a conversation is good too. I don't think this is too unreasonable. (ps - and decent bewbs lol)

May as well buy into the thread, after being with my wife for around 25 years ( We met when she was in first year high ), and only one point of view.
Honesty, Support, Soul Mate / Best friend, Common Sense, Understanding, Humour, Non Restrictive, Takes pride in thier personal appeareance, Non reliant , does not set rules of any kind, has thier own goals and ambitions. Just a few i can think of but there are many more i have probably left out. |

nah in all seriousness...
Looks are important to me. I'm not saying that I will only date the hottest of the hot... but I do like a girl who takes care of herself. That said, looks are nothing if the girl is a . Personality wise: I like fun, outgoing women who are EMOTIONALLY STABLE! Age... despite my Toi Boi nicknames... I actually tend towards younger girls. Not peadophile material but but one or two years is all good. I dont particularly mind though. I will date older women. Nice ****. Bewbs are good, but Im not a big bosom fan. I also prefer brunettes ;) especially ones that drive V8 utes...

In all seriousness though, I'd have to say that first and foremost the girl has to have a clue. Not neccesarily booksmarts, just an idea of what is going on around her. A sense of humour is pretty much essential too, 'cause I tend to come across as a self-righteous ***** if someone can't see that I've got my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. An ability to hold a decent conversation with me, or even an interesting debate/argument, if the relationship is going to last past 3 days or so. Fun to be around, a grizzly guts gets me down too. Physically: In reasonable shape. Not overweight, not stick-figure thin. Curves are great. A sweet smile flashed my way will make my ears burn too. Nice eyes don't hurt either, they're probably the most important thing on the face.

My gf-to-be-wife pretty much sums up exactly what I like.
Intelligence.. whether its cars, computers, fashion, politics, whatever.. she has a good head on her shoulders with good logic, mature thinking, etc. Can sit and chat for hours. Stubborn (her own word for describing it!)eg.. not a "yes dear whatever you say dear" type person.. will stand up for her opinions etc. Self sufficient.. not overly clingy etc and can happily go off and do her own thing without having to call every 15 seconds to check what you're up to or who you're with etc. Understanding.. even if she doesnt like something I do, she lets me do it.. eg pouring way more money into a car than is sane.. There's lots more but i'll keep it short. |

Sense of humor, sense of humor, sense of humor. If she thinks a fart joke is juvenile, NEXT!
She also has to have a sense of humor. But one thing above all else, and this is particularly difficult to find because most women think they have it but very few do.... she HAS to have a sense of humor. |

Pretty much what others have said.
Not being so insecure - I don't like it when she entertains the thought by asking me if I'm fooling around with someone else when I haven't done anything to fuel those ideas. Saying "so and so's boyfriend does this and this......" to try and make you feel guilty and do more for her. I'm not that stupid and my ex was doing alot of this the day I gave her the flick. It was the straw that broke this camel's back. Someone who is attractive enough at any time of day - i.e. a girl who needs an hour in front of the mirror applying a thick layer of makeup and getting her hair just right before she feels it's safe to go down to the shops is not good. Someone who is feminine, without being a total princess. A girl who can provide for herself - of course if later on down the track a family happens then one has to support the other. Basically, I don't like it when I'm called cheap because expenditure on going out is about equal - with me actually paying a little more. Especially when she earns about the same as me and I drive her around on top of it. It's not like I'll split everything exactly. I'll pay for some things and not ask for any money, and sometimes let her pay. In the end it'll work out in her favour. Some common interests - whether it be music, movies, TV shows, interest in cars/motorsport is a good bonus. For me, someone who is not too outgoing would be better, as I'm a quieter sort of person. Never been into pubs/clubs and definitely not dancing

Someone who'll take me for who I am and what I look like.
Someone who enjoys a good laugh and generally enjoys life.

That "spark". For me it's impossible to define, but it's obvious when it's there. It can be the smallest thing, but something that just hits you. We all have a list of preferences we carry around, and for me in order of importance:
Similar path - in that they are into or at the very least supportive of my own personal journey. Some similar interests or pursuits. Great communication - for me this is the one biggest single thing that makes or breaks relationships. If you can't listen to each other and both be really heard, it just gets ugly. That plus the fact that one day when you're both old and grey you are going to be seeng a lot more of each other! Self respect - that in it's many forms, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. How can anyone truely love anyone else if they don't first love themselves, and not in a self righteous way. If you can't respect yourself first, then the rest has shady "footings". Sense of self - own interests, own passions, doesn't need to cling. Keeps things interesting, and gives you something interesting to talk about - see above! Kind soul - I admire generous people who do selfless kind things for others above and beyond!
