Default Ba dvd player

Hi mate,

I have premium sound fitted to my ba xr8 and am wanting to get a dvd player fitted. The kit you guys offer where does the player mount. I spose there wouldn't be any chance of pulling the factory cd player/changer apart and wiring a dvd reader into it so that the factory stacker becomes a 6 stacker dvd player, it'd have to be possible to do this wouldn't it.

It wouldn't be overly hard to wire 2 screens into the back of the head rests would it. I'd only assume i'd need to run power and a video line to them.

Also do you have anyone in syd that can fit the kit.

Thanks Leigh

Hi XRQTOR

Its up to you where you fit the dvd player, we usually fit them under the front passenger seat, where we supply a bracket, or we fit them where the tissue box holder if customer wants it there.

Like you said its not possible to actually replace the 6indash cd with 6 indash dvd. however the dvd we supply plays mp3 dvd vcd copied etc..

its not that hard to run 2 extra head rest screens, as my car is an xr8 and i have similar set up, dvd on tft screen and 2 in rear headrests, we also supply the the 2 screens for the headrests if ur intrested.

Peter warren ford in smithfield fits them no worries. speak to lou in service ph 0287241148. unless give me excat location where you are and i can refer you to someone closer to you.

Cheers

Bugger would be cool to have a 6 stacker dvd player, there'd have to be a way to do it i rekon. WOuld it be possible to mount it in the glove box, do you have any pics of the dvd player itself.

How much extra would it cost for the two head rest screens and the gear required to run them.

Lou knows my car all to well, bought it from PWS and get all the warrenty work done there lol. I live in campbelltown and with the hours i work PWS is a bastard of a place to get to. But if i have to it'll go there.

not enough room in the glove box. they sit flat/horizental for anti skipping.

ur looking at $2700.00 for head rests, we fit the screens here, with 3 yrs warranty.

if you want pics please email me at fadi@asllogistics.com where i can email photos for you.

i think its worth going thru pws, like i said they fitted few by now.

cheers

Hi

The headrests you have to send to us to fot with the screens, then after we can supply the complete package to you with camera and sat nav etc...with an easy install, basically any place or audioshop can fit them easily.

Cheers

1. If the DVD player is fitted under the seat, how is it controlled? Does it come with an RF remote?
2. On the web site it mentions the DVD player outputs NTSC to the TFT screen. Does this mean it wont play PAL DVDs? Or does it convert PAL DVDs to NTSC output?
3. Is the Audiovox player multi-zone?
4. Sorry for so many questions. :Reverend:

1. The DVD player is controlled via infrared-The DVD player comes with an IR cable which you can place anywhere.
2. Our DVD players will output in NTSC regardless of whether they are PAL or NTSC. So yes it converts PAL DVD's to NTSC-some players don't.
3. Yes the DVD player is Multizone.

cheers

Hey XRQTOR, i was talking to a guy I used to go to school with who works at the local ford dealership and owns a mk2 xr6 with premium and he was telling me about some company that replace his factory 6 stacker with a dvd 6 stacker that played through the stock screen, cost him $2500. Unfortunately he didnt give me the name of the company or any details, but atleast you can be sure its deffinately possible. If i happen to speak to him again, which is probably unlikely, ill try and find out some details and pm them to you.

Cheers

Hi

I found this hard to believe, That cd radio module basically controls most of the functions in the car.

Cheers

I couldn't see why replacing the cd reader with a dvd reader isn't possible if someone spent enough time and money on it.
