err is an error message
you get 3 tries then it takes progressively longer til you get the next try and longer after that. it won't actually lock you out forever when i baught my ute, i had some work done and they too kthe batter out....however the previous owner had replaced the player and didn't get ford to update their system....after 5 attemps we finally got the right code and 3 days later were able to key it in and it works great now lol. |

I remember this happened in a mates car. He had to leave his radio on and running for like 1-2 hrs before it would let him have another go at putting in the number.

They asked me for proof of ownership, all the codes and everything, but I see this as a good thing as it makes it harder for theives to steal them and actuall get it going.

ive actually got the code, but didnt have it with me at the time and was trying to guess it... but after 3 go's, it locks you out. So what i did was leave it on for about 30/40 mins and it let me have another go.
Thanks. Jimmeh |

Yeah, I've had to pay for my code once before as well.
I reckon if you can prove owbership, they should give it to you free as a courtesy first time round. If a next time comes, then it wouldn't be unreasonable to have to pay. After all, once they give you the code, you should write it down, LOL! GK |
