Well last time we all went to Summernats back in 2003 we purchased 14 Gold Pass's which was supposed to give us 14 VIP Car Parks - this was the main reason why we purchased the GOLD tickets was for the VIP Parking and also for the reserved seating for the burnout pad and Sat Night Show.
As we only took 4 cars we only needed 4 pass's BUT on the Saturday & Sunday we couldnt get into the VIP Parking as the officials had parked there and it was full. Did I complain - well yes I did and all I got was a letter to say let our three cars in - no restrictions - this took me an hour to get, time I couldnt spent looking at the cars - had to wait for the head of security. ANYWAY have been emailing the Summernats office for the last month to confirm we would get GAURANTEED Vip Parking without going through the hassle as last time. Well after telling me that it has all changed since 2003 they have now told me Gold Pass's dont gaurantee VIP Parking and that the with reserved seating you sit in the same area as the Silver Pass's. What a rip off - you pay the money you should get what you pay for and what is advertised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the price the same for both Gold and Silver or is there a difference?
Just asking because I don't know the prices of the pass's but if the Gold pass is more then it seems hardly fair at all that you would only be given benefits of Silver.

Here is how they are advertised - but its false advertising as you get "maybe if its not full vip parking"
The other difference - is prime seating in grandstand - thats a joke too as the sliver pass's sit in the same area. Gold Pass $235.00 (Camping included - $300.00) Season Pass entry Prime centre seating in the grandstand for Saturday night entertainment Shaded seating in the grandstand for Sunday Burnouts and Go-Whoa finals FREE parking in the Summernats VIP Car Park (Near Gate 4/Shell Servo Gate) 10% discount voucher on Summernats Merchandise purchased at the Event Entry into draw for Pre-show drinks with Sydney Show Girls (2 lucky winners) Silver Pass $175.00 (Camping included - $240.00) Season Pass Entry Shaded seating in the Grandstand for the Burnout and Go Whoa Special seating in the Grandstand for the Saturday night entertainment Discount on cost of parking in the Gate 7 Convenience Car Park 10% discount voucher on Summernats Merchandise purchased at the event

Hardly seems worth paying the extra $60 if they aren't going to provide you with quoted entitlements. If this were me - I'd lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs. You didn't get what you paid for, simple.
And before anyone says oh well, the parking was full, bad luck - no! If you pay for a particular thing then you have a right to expect that that's what you'll get, no excuses. Unless ofcourse they offered a compromise of some sort then fair enough, but otherwise......

Well in 2003 when we went we purchased 14 Gold Pass's which entitled us to 14 VIP Parking - we couldnt even get 1 car parked.
Excuse was the officials parked there as well so they filled it up - I dont really give a rats about the officials parking I am a paying customer - Summernats don't seem to value paying customers - if we didn't go they wouldn't be any summernats nor would their be any officials. Yes I think I will take it up with Consumer Affairs

Definitely go to consumer affairs.
It's a simple matter of not getting what you paid for. |

I am pretty sure that if I staked the reserved parking area they would be taken down unless I leave a pit bull terrier to guard it
