Ok I have just accepted a 6 month contract working and living in Brisbane, coming up from Mexico I understand I will be automatically in for some warmer weather and the likes, However I will be living in from what I understand to be SouthBank (Company Provided Accom), now apart from spending my time in the Lap Pool and in the Gym of the apartment, what else should I look at spending my spare time (after hours) and what are some of the better (not more expensive) places to eat. I plan on a visit to the casino, and a couple of days walking around the city to get to know my adoptive new town, what are the central places good for a drink after work, and also for if (when) I want to kick on a bit and really water the throat. Also wouldnt hurt to find where all the eye candy hides!!!!
Thanks In Advance Craig.

Depends what you're after. In that part of town there is talent everywhere. In the CBD there is talent everywhere. The casino bars are honestly great places to drink, meet people, party in general on weekends.
The valley is really if you're out for a crazy night with crazier women.

You wont need a car, not that close to everything!
(sarcasm) Plus, didnt they tell you, they no longer let Holdens up here...there was too much rock throwing and stuff, got really bad with the VY, especially the SS. Ford hoons ganged up with imports'r'us. Im sure it would have been in a paper down there.... (end sarcasm) Umm...as for good places, depends what you really want and what day of the week. If you listen to the news at the moment you shouldnt go to the CBD unless you want to get stabbed. So my advice, just run across the bridge and duck into the casino. YAY!!! But in all reality...jump on the train and come to the Gold Coast...we dont have to add 'vegas' to the name to make it sound cool. lol :hihi:

I’m more of a settled down burb dweller these days so I can’t advise on up to date eye candy hangouts but there’s plenty of good restaurants at south bank and a couple of pubs the plough inn used to be ok haven’t been there for a few years though.
As mentioned the casino is good general place to have a drink and meet people I quite like the bars there and you can have a smoke with your beer on the balcony there too, it’s got a couple of restaurants as well See where your colleagues are drinking and hit those places hard P.S Leave the lion at home QLD is ford country lol only joking. Although if you can borrow someone’s falcon bring it up, you won’t need it through the week but it would be handy to have on weekends, as your only a hour or so away from the gold or sunshine coasts.
