Default AU series 1 I6 Engine cost

I don't need one, but my last car (Pajero) cost me over $6k before I offloaded it, and I was wondering what a new engine in my AU S1 would cost if I ever blew it?
I took the car in the get the a/c checked the other day because it wasn't very cold. (still not the best, but better than it was!). Anyway, in the process, the guy noticed my electric fans weren't working, so he took the car to an auto electrician, and he confirmed they had burned out. $100 saw 2 replacement 2nd hand ones supplied and fitted. If he hadn't noticed, I guess I could have easily overheated on the next hot day.

yeah, its always a good idea to watch your temp gauge. A resonable au engine wouldn't cost more then about $700

My god! That is so cheap! The second hand engine for the Pajero was over $4000 with 'around' 120,000km to 150,000km on it!
It's so wrong! The AU engine is much newer, more modern, more powerful, and more reliable! Bloody Mitsubishi! Never again!

Obviously those prices would be plus fitting, which would be what? About $300 - $400?
