I'm really keen to learn more about my own car in particular, but also about the cars & mods in general. However, I keep reading threads discussing various mods and I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
How about a section where we beginners/rookies can come & ask our "silly" questions without having to interrupt an existing thread or having to start a new thread that is just going to get lost in the mayhem and probably never get answered. I know I have at least 8 or 9 unanswered questions in various parts of the forums. Just a thought guys, cos I'm sure I'm not the only one in this predicament. |

I thank you for the really quick reply & suggestion, but I'm reluctant to do this coz I'm terrified of appearing to be as dumb as I am.
I'm not entirely sure I can explain this properly, but it is fairly daunting for someone (like me) to PM someone I don't know, have never even spoken to let alone met and ask them a something that may in fact be a really stupid question. Especially not knowing what - if any - reaction I will get. I just thought it might be better to have a kind of "learning centre" where any questions that have been asked & answered can be posted, rather than ppl who are new to cars and/or new to these forums having to PM somebody they don't know. |

KaptnKaos : Sometimes you just need to give it a bit of time before you get your answer. Check back in on your questions as someone may have answered them by now.
Mods : The overclockers site ( www.overclockers.com.au ) has a section in their forum which is made for noobs where they can answer all sorts of basic and easy questions. It's moderated so people don't get flamed. I don't know how it would work here with the various questions people ask.

there are plenty of people from here that i havent met - or know from a bar of soap too, and i wouldnt think twice about sending them a pm asking them whats the go you'll never know the answers to your question unless you ask...and who better to ask than the person thats actually doing the modification..... |

I reckon this would be a great idea. I've often thought about it myself, hearing things (mostly slang/abbreviations that I've never heard before) and thought it would be good if we could get a thread to define the various terms/parts/modifications etc. Possibly divided into sub-categories (paint + panel, driveline, engine, interior etc).

Yea - I'm thinking of things you guys all take for granted but us noobs have never heard before. For example wtf is an "edit"?
I thought that was what you did when you screwed up your post in the forums! : |

Feel free to drop me a PM with any stupid car questions, if i dont know the answer I can direct you towards a member who does, failing that you might have to post it up.
