Just a quick question guys, I've read about the differences between high series AU's and low series AU's but i'm unsure where the XLS ute fits..I assume XL would be Low series, does that make XLS High series or is it still low?
Thanks in advance Chad |

Good question, I'd also like to know what the options/differences are.
Cheers

XLS is the mid range model between XL and XR. Had 16' wheels and better trim than an XL

As for where it sits as in low or high series i don't really know but if ford used the same fitout standards as they have in the BA then the XL will have vinyl floor and XLS has carpet, also i think the XLS has lower suspension then the XL

OK ... this is what I found ... especiallt when it comes to what BEM is uses.
It uses a high-series BEM with some functions disabled ... making it a Mid-series vehicle. Strange I know .... I did see a listing on what things were disabled in the BEM but don't have them on hand at the moment. XLS has a few things the XR has ... but a few things missing as well. From factory ... here are a few things it didn't have that the XR did have. A/C Cluster (AU series anyway) Adaptive shift auto 16" wheels instead of 17" wheels ABS LSD and diff ratio difference different interior trim XLS came standard with XR Sports suspension ... although raised 50mm if option Dedicated LPG (in the rear only though from memory) XLS has a different tub liner (allows a full CHEP Pallet to fit between the wheel tubs ... XR didn't fit a pallet) AU XLS had no body kit fitted (although I think earlier series XR's didn't either) I am sure there is much more but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

cool, thanks for the info... so an XLS is a hybrid of sorts... so the BEM controls things like turning the interior lights on when you unlock the doors?

Yeh .. also power antenna height .... headlights dwell timer after turning vehicle off (Ghia and T-series had a seperate switch next to the headlight switch on the dash) ... intermittant wiper dwell timer and adjustability.
Will see what i can dig up on the listing.
