What's the verdict on possible reschedule to another date. Easter Sunday is 20th which leaves the 13th or 27th which don't conflict with other events. Any thoughts?

As mentioned above, I am open to a date change. 27th is Anzac weekend, so I am guessing many may have plans? 13th works for me. Let's see which weekend works best for VP Chris?

Cheers

Changing the date needs to have a positive outcome! Given that May is light on for events, how about Sunday 11th May?

Hi All.

As per Dave's post above, and as a result of our committee meeting last night, I have been tasked with finding a date that is suitable to all members. My wish is to have as many members attend as possible, but will need members assistance.

So far from the suggested dates, we have found that April 6 and 13 are not suitable options. Dave above has suggested the 11/5, but I understand that this is Mothers day. I have not ruled this out, but I am guessing family commitments for many members will possibly rule this out.

So, working on Sundays This is what is happening for the next couple of months based on the information that I have at hand.

6/4 - Chris V racing interstate - Ruled out
13/4 - Stu W Unavailable - Ruled out
20/4 - Easter Weekend - Feasible?
27/4 - Anzac Long weekend - Feasible?
4/5 - FTF Fords in the Park - Ruled out
11/5 - Mothers Day - Feasible?
18/5 - Open
25/5 - Open

When considering a date, remember the later we leave it, the bigger chance we have of running into snow and ice - not favourable. For this reason I have not even looked at June.

Another option available to us is doing this run on a Saturday. Traditionally we have not planned anything on a Saturday due to family sport committments, but I would like to open up this thought to members.

So far, the only Saturday committment we have on the club calender is Wheels of Womboin on the 19/4. If we rule out long weekends (as for Sundays), this leaves the following Saturdays open:
5/4 - guessing Chris will be way in advance of racing?
12/4 - Stu W, what are your thoughts?
19/4 - Easter - also Wheels of Womboin - ruled out.
26/4 - Anzac long weekend - Feasible
3/5 - Open, but possibly cleaning and travelling day for FTF
10/5 - Open
17/5 - Open
24/5 - Open

Please post your thoughts on a date ladies and gents. This is too good a run to miss because we cannot find a date. If any of the dates above are out for you, please let me know via this forum or via email to secretary@fpvxrclubact.com.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Stu
Secretary.

Title changed to the correct date Ray. There has been plenty of time for objections to a change of date, so 13th it is!

What are the thoughts from other club members regarding inviting other clubs to join us? I am thinking initially of our Ford colleagues, the GT club and the Mustang club. The HSV club have joined us in the past. I am also not opposed to showing the HSV guys some LTD rear end!

This has been a great event in the past, and if we invite our fellow ACT clubs, I believe we can be seen as leader in involving our fellow clubs. (and just for Ray, we could also invite the Torana club)!

Thoughts gents?

Stu

Date change was originally requested by Chris on the 18th of Feb. Nobody in that time came up with any thoughts of alternatives until Dave did. Plenty of time to list your preferences.

I think this event in particular is best run as a club only group.

no whinging from external groups about the driving quality of the food.

Given that we only had 5 cars listed for this event let's get a consensus by eliminating a few dates. See also Stu's post above which lists upcoming dates and events.
5/6th April no good
13th April no good
Next date for consideration is Sat 12th April. Who cannot make this date?

Cheers Stu. We will try and come up with something that works.

Saturday the 12th does not work for me at this stage.

Default Re: Snowy Mountains Cruise - Saturday 11 May 2014

Hi ladies and gents. At last nights meeting, I was asked to change the date in the tread title to Saturday 11th May. This is the new proposal from the meeting last night. Please all be aware that this is the Saturday before Mother's Day, but we are really hoping that this will not impact on too many (at least it is not Mother's Day). If any intended participants cannot make it on this day, please let us know in this thread. It is the committee's wish to have as many members attend this event as possible. Personally, I think that this is the club's best cruising event of the year, so please get on board.

Cheers
StuR
