Guys, I've heard on the grape vine that 'someone is making BA style bonnet bulges for EA-ED style bonnets. Anyone know anything about it???

One of our site sponsors, AWC (http://www.awcinfo.com/) does a universal one that can and has been fitted to a few of E-series falcons.

There was someone on fordmods that made one completely out of f/g for an ED XR.
but no idea beyond that.

I make these and sell for $125. The 'bulge' was taken off a V8 Supercar.

I'm in NSW but what would it take to get one made and sent down and how much effort is involved in putting it on?

There are 2 Methods of Fitting

1. Paint then use siklaflex on top of bonnet – 15 mins work after painting
2. Seamless – Use fibreglass reinforced filler to bond the bulge to the bonnet then use ordinary filler to smooth the edges off – 2 hours + painting

depends on the look youre going for. keep it original looking stay with EB GT gear, but i reckon the BA bulge would look perfect on any ea-ed. sad to say it would look crap on ef-el i reckon though.

Same here, IMO it follows the lines of the EF/EL bonnet perfectly and looks awesome, but seems a little odd on the EA-ED's I have seen (still good though).

In Bathurst there is a very sad looking ED XR6 in that seasick canary yellow lime BA colour and it has a home made BA style bulge on it. I should take a photo of it sometime. Looks very bodgy.

I like the buldgeon the XH, i look aswome.
My mate has one on his XH, in Sparkling Burgandy, it looks the bomb.
I have pics but i wont post them as he has asked me noot to yet.

Here is some pics i have of the cacky yellow ed that was mentioned above, it looks crap.
and also some pics of an EF, which i am not a fan of.

With the buldge i think they are very colour dependant.

Suits the EA to ED squared car body more I think. Still not sure about the look on EF-EL.
Maybe if it weren't the body colour (ie black) or something. Or just the sides of the bulge black would look tougher.
Dunno...still looking at them here...

What would really be good, would be having that bulge and a mesh opening at the windscreen end of the bulge for heat extraction.
