if you go into the programme it says that the car has no id tag but is a jg 33 car ,this might turn off a lot of bidders

i dont think so a lot of cars years ago while getting sprayed and or owners paranoid of owning GT s took compliance plates of and put them in safes and safe places only to loose them and dont worry there are a few about ,so if the tag is missing and everything matces up they can still be a geniune thing

The Phase 3 had STD and Large tank options.
Here is a great link to the differences between a std XYGT and a XYGTHO.

The phase 3 had the 36 gallon tank from factory there was no option for it. Th GT was able to be optioned up from the standard tank which was 16.5 gallons to the 36 gallon GTHO tank.

The car is a genuine Phase 3, in the 80's it was stolen and had the plate removed, it was recovered without the plate, the then owner made 2 XD style plates for the car but they're nothing like the original single plate, and these plates dont come with the car either.
The vehicle was recently reposessed as a proceeds of crive asset and is being auctioned to recover its value.

So how much of a hassle will the lack of compliance plate be if you were to try and register it?

No original ID tag means a massive drop in value. Technically the car cannot be registered or driven. Could not be worth more than $150k IMO.

There was no optional fuel tank on the P3, they all got the 36 gal.

Noddy if you do go for a look please post up some pics.

Cheers

This is my first time to a auction viewing. I take it they allow pics? I suppose interstate purchasers would only see the vehicle by photographs.

You would think so Noddy.

Are you an interested buyer or just a tyre kicker? If you are a buyer PM me and l will put you onto a couple of contacts. There are less than 180 P3's left and a LOT have colourful histories (thats being kind) so buying a good one is extremely hard. This is anyhting but a mint car if it doesnt have its plate. willing to bet both nuts that its been around the clock at least once too.

if this vehicle was stolen and recovered (in victoria) it would have been issued with vp numbers so the car could be registered.

vp = victorian police

sample : v, year of issue, year to date issue number, p and this is all hand stamped.

example would look like this for 1985. V850001P

cheers andrew
